Today i went to my great grandmother's 85 birthday party. needless to say there were a lot of people there, most of whom i didn't know at all.

she had asked me to play the violin there and i did after everyone had given their "heartfilled" speches.

it was held in the church she had gone to some many years now. see the side of my family containing my great grandmother is very religious. maybe that's is why i always feel so awkward w/ them, seeing as i don't consider myself religious at all.

anyway, as i went to go the bathroom, hanging outside the door was a poster entitled this:

"Can gays change? .... YES"

and underneath were many happy people.

perhaps it's because i havn't been exposed to anyone that feels so strongly about things like homosexuality that this came as such a shock to me.

i have been raised to believe that everyone if created equal. i have surrounded myself w/ friends who have the same morals as me.

i guess this was just a small taste of the real world. how many people really are
